GMC Releases Teaser for Next Generation Acadia

Almost ten years have passed since the introduction of the first GMC Acadia in 2007, and the original model brought an eight-passenger, 275-hp SUV with front-wheel-drive to the market. Now, the current Acadia is nearing the end of its life cycle, and GMC is preparing a next generation Acadia for launch. The 2017 model made its debut at the Detroit Auto Show, ramping up anticipation for the all-new version of the SUV.

The teaser image released ahead of the motor show depicted a darkened preview of the 2017 Acadia’s rear end, with its taillights lit up. Though as a teaser, it didn’t give much detail as to the vehicle’s overall design, viewers can still make out a new triangle-shaped taillight design wrapping around the chrome strip just above the license plate. The next generation Acadia is expected to share its platform with the Chevy Traverse and Buick Enclave, along with the signature three-row interior.

The Detroit show revealed that the next generation Acadia has a more rugged, squared, muscular look than other modern SUVs, giving it a tougher, more capable appearance. In addition, it also has dropped 700 pounds from the previous model, making it faster in addition to the power boost from the V6 engine. With the 2017 model rolling out sometime this year, enthusiasts everywhere are looking forward to its launch.
